FOOD SECURITY

TDIN values the importance of food security in our drop-in sector, both for drop-ins which work hard to provide healthy meals every day, and for people who can’t get enough healthy food to eat. This page is about the food security programs which help our sector and low income people, and includes links to organizations, training and resources about food.

Included on this page is information about Creating Health Plus. It is a program which funds the purchase of healthy food to 23 drop-ins through Daily Bread Food Bank. Creating Health Plus is made of representatives from drop-ins and Toronto Public Health, led by Shelter Support and Housing.

If you know of any food security programs not listed here, please email Elis Ziegler, TDIN Manager, manager@tdin.ca.
